Hoy volvemos con un café, por los pelos pero un café. Con nuestras compis de Sonambulistas y muchas mas fans del cafe de los viernes.

Si estuviéramos tomando un café...te contaría que esta Navidad va a ser muy especial. Primera y última que pasamos en Londres, sentimientos encontrados. Viene toda mi familia y va a ser una locura, se van y casi al día siguiente tenemos la mudanza. Luego vienen mis suegros en un viaje  relámpago para tomarnos las uvas juntos. Prometen ser unos días llenos de actividades....

Si estuviéramos tomando un café....te contaría que el otro día descubrimos un restaurante que me encantó. Después de 4 años preguntándome que había ahí y resulta que era un restaurante riquísimo. Prometo un post detallado antes de irnos. 

Si estuviéramos tomando un café.....te contaría que ya tengo todos los regalos de las niñas, este año en esta locura navideña, hemos decido que solo tienen regalo las princesas de la casa y una cosa cada una. Así que aquí tengo la casa llena de cajas, mis hijas se han creído que son para la mudanza....

Si estuviéramos tomando un café.... te diría Feliz Navidad!!! que espero que pases unos días estupendos en familia. Que comas mucho turrón y bebas mucho champagne, que para esos son fiestas!!!

Today we return to our coffee...
If we were having a coffee..I would tell you that these Christmas are very special for us. The first and the last Christmas in London. All my family is coming, so it is going to be a little bit crazy. The day after they leave we have the removal. After that my parents in law are coming for a short trip, just to eat the grapes with us. Promises to be fully days...

If we were having a coffee..I would tell you the other day we discovered a new restaurant. I have been 4 years asking what was this place and it turns out that is a very nice restaurant. I will tell you more in detail in next posts.

If we were having a coffee...I would tell you that finally I have all the presents for the girls. This year we decided that only one present and only for the girls. So, easier for everybody. I have the house with all the boxes around. My girls think they are all for the removal..

If we were having a coffee...I would wish you Merry Christmas, I hope you can have nice time with your family. Eat a lot of awesome food and drink a lot of champagne, we are in Christmas!!

Pop Cupcakes - La mejor receta para las fiestas

La semana pasada ha sido un poco locura, de ahí que me saltara el café del viernes, con la de cafés que yo me tomo...
Last week has been a little bit busy and that is the reason I skipped my coffee on friday, I am sorry..

Entre otras cosas, hemos estado de fiesta. Matilda llevaba haciendo su lista de cumpleaños desde hace 2 meses con los niños de su clase, su cumpleaños es en febrero, así que no iba a poder ser, por no dejarla sin fiesta, hemos organizado su "leaving party". Por una vez, no me he complicado mucho la vida y hemos ido a un pub estupendo con una salita a parte para que no molestaran los niños, hemos contratado una animadora para que estuvieran todos entretenidos, todo muy fácil para mi...
We had a party. Matilda has been preparing her birthday list for two months with the kids of her class, (her birthday is in february). I decided to organize a "leaving party for her". Because I`m quite busy , we  decided to simplify our lives, so we went to a pub that had a nice room that could be used by the kids, and also hired with a nice entertainer and booked for everybody.

Lo único que he hecho, son unos "pop cupcakes", no podíamos poner una tarta sin velas, así que era una buena idea:
The only thing I did was the "pop cupcakes", as we couldn't put a proper cake so that was a very nice idea:

Son un poco rollo de hacer pero quedan muy chulos. Los hicimos de 2 tipos, por un lado de galletas oreo con queso philadelphia. Solo tienes que machacar muy bien las galletas y mezclarlo con una cucharadita de queso philadelphia y hacer como albóndigas. Para dos paquetes de galletas, puse solo 1 cucharada de queso. No se pueden quedar muy blandas que sino luego no se quedan enganchadas a los palitos.

There are a little bit boring to do it, but look very nice. We did 2 types. One with oreo biscuits and philadelphia cheese. You just need to crush the biscuits and mix it with the cheese, and do like meatballs. For 2 packages of biscuits I added one spoon of cheese. They can't end very soft as they will end up stuck to the stick.

Por otro lado, hice un bizcocho normal de receta de magdalenas:
The other kind of pop cupcake was a regular recipe of muffins:

250 gr harina-- flour
250 gr azúcar-- sugar
75 ml aceite --oil
125 ml nata fresca--cream
1 sobre levadura--powder
3 huevos--eggs

Lo mezclas todo bien y 20 minutos al horno a 180º.
You mix all very well and 20 minutes in the oven at 180º.

Cuando se enfría el bizcocho lo deshaces y lo mezclas con queso philadelphia, lo mismo para que te quede una masa homogénea con la que poder hacer como albóndigas.
When it is cold, you destroy it and mix with philadelphia cheese. The idea is the same, you need to get a dough to do like meatballs not very soft. 

Pones chocolate blanco a derretir al baño maría, para poder meter las bolas y que se queden bañadas en chocolate.
Después les pones la decoración que quieras por encima y a la nevera. Puse una ensaladera con azúcar para pinchar los palitos en ella y dejarlo enfriar en la nevera:
Yo lo hice el día anterior para que se quedaran duritas y no se derritieran por el camino.

Melt the white chocolate at doble boil, to put inside the balls and just cover it. Put the sparkly you want and direct to the fridge. 
I put a bowl with sugar to nibbled the pop cupcakes. I did it the day before to be sure that are hard enough. 

Se las devoraron, así que estaban riquísimas.
They ate all of them, so there were delicious...

Los mejores libros para ayudar a tu hijo a leer en Inglés

Una de las cosas que mas me está costando de estar en Londres, es ayudar a mi hija a aprender a leer en inglés.
Hoy os quiero enseñar los libros que leemos para aprender a leer. Por si no estás familiarizado, aprender a leer en Inglés es con Phonics. Digamos que aprenden los ruidos de las letras y las van uniendo hasta que salen palabras. Hay palabras "tricky words" que se tienen que aprender de memoria. Para esto están las flashcards. Esto es lo primero que necesitas para aprender a leer.
One thing that is being tough for me in London, it is to help my daughter to begin to read in English. 
Today I want to show you the books we are using to do it. First of all, they learn to read using phonics, that means they do the noise of the letters, they  put them together and they get the word.  There are other words, called 'Tricky words' that they have to memorise because they don't follow the rules of blending phonic sounds. So the first step are the Flashcards

Para ellos es cómo un juego y van aprendiendo los phonics de las palabras. Son cartas que por un lado tienen la imagen y por el otro la palabra.
For them is like a game, and they learn the phonics of the words. In the cards you have the word with all the letters and a picture to recognise it. 

Nosotras ahora estamos practicando con la colección de "Read it yourself", tienen diferentes niveles para aprender a leer, todos los cuentos son muy sencillos y están basados en los cuentos que a ellos les encantan.
We are practicing with the "Read it yourself" collection. They have different levels to read. All the books are  made of simple stories and very interesting for them. 

Lo que más me gusta es que al final del cuento tienen unas preguntas básicas sobre la historia y un pequeño juego.
What I like is that at the end of the book you have questions about the story and and a game to play related to the story. 

Hay otro libro que me encanta, que he descubierto que es de una española que se llama "my first letters" de Angels Navarro, me encanta, es precioso!! y además super práctico y divertido para hacer con ellos. Tiene también de números.
Another book we love  is  "My first book of letters". I like it because the book is very nice, the stories they have are very interesting. I have discovered that is of a Spanish woman, Angels Navarro, and she has also another one about numbers.  

¿Y tu como ayudas a tus hijos a aprender a leer? Me parece una etapa preciosa donde van descubriendo que las letras que ven por el mundo tienen algún sentido...
And you how do you help your children to learn to read? I think is a very nice phase where they discover that all the letters around them have sense.

Today I want to show you a new place we discovered last weekend. It is one of the wonder hiding things you can find it in this infinite city...

Lo primero por su localización, en Little Venice, aquí os conté cómo me gusta pasear por esos canales  que te trasladan a otro mundo con sus barcos habitados y sus barrios preciosos.
First of all because of the location. It is located in Little Venice. I have told you here what an amazing is this area. With the canals that move to you another world, with the live boats in an charming neighborhood. 

De verdad que entrar en Clifton Nurseries es como entrar en un paraíso, mas ahora que está con todos los adornos de Navidad y los pinos listos para llevarlos a casa. Tiene 2 invernaderos como tiendas, todos los adornos que tienen son preciosos. Luego puedes pasear al aire libre para elegir que planta o árbol llevarte a casa.
Get in the "Clifton Nurseries" is like go into a paradise, more now with all the Christmas decorations and with the Christmas Trees ready to go home with you. They have 2 greenhouses used as shops, one of them with very nice selection of Christmas decoration and the another one with all you can need to do gardening. You can go for a stroll through all the plants and trees. 

Pero lo mejor es el restaurante que tienen en otro de los invernaderos. Muy sencillo pero con mucho encanto, ya sea para tomarse un café con un rico bollo o para comer o tomar el brunch según la hora que te pille. Es verdad que nosotros reservamos, siempre es más fácil sobretodo si vas en fin de semana. Si hace bueno tienen una parte para sentarse fuera, que también debe ser muy agradable.
They have another greenhouse used as a restaurant, very nice. It is perfect to take a coffee or to have brunch, delicious. It is true that we book in advance, always better if you can do it more during the weekends. They have also a exterior terrace to seat if the weather is nice.

Un paraíso escondido en el centro de esta ciudad infinita....Si quieres hacer un plan diferente en Londres, no te lo pierdas.

Winter Wonderland- Christmas Plan with kids in London

Este fin de semana hemos tenido solazo, así que hemos aprovechado la visita de amigos para adentramos en el mundo de Winter Wonderland. Nosotros y los millones de personas que había en Londres disfrutando de este soleado invierno.
This weekend we had sunny days!!! So we went with our guests to visit Winter Wonderland. We and million of people who was in London last weekend enjoying the sun....

Es una visita obligada si estás en Londres con niños. Es un parque de atracciones y mercado de Navidad todo en el mismo recinto que montan todos los años en Hyde park.
It is a must in London with kids. It is a ride park and a Christmas Market in the same location.

La entrada es gratuita, pagas por las atracciones, tienes que comprar las fichas en las casetas antes de ir a las atracciones. Luego en cada atracción te piden un número diferente de fichas. Está bastante bien organizado, para la cantidad de gente que había tampoco esperamos colas larguísimas, bueno nos quedamos sin la foto con Santa porque la espera era de 2 horas!!!
The entrance is free, you pay for the rides. You need to get the tokens before to go to the rides. There are special stall to buy them. In the rides you need to pay with it. It is very well organized, we didn't do a lot of queues,  but it is true that we don't have our picture with Santa, 2 hours queue!!!

Hay una parte del parque con atracciones para los más pequeños y luego atracciones para los mas mayores, unas sillas voladoras que sólo de verlas me deba vértigo y una noria que se ve casi desde todo Hyde Park
There is an area in the park for the small ones, with rides for them. But there are also rides for the brave ones, only seeing the flying chairs in the air makes me dizzy. And the huge wheel:

También hay un montón de casetas con comida y bebida. Poco sitio para sentarse, pero siempre encuentras un sitio para poder comer.
You can find a lot of stands with food and drinks, there are not a lot of places to seat, but you always find a place to stay.
No te vayas sin darte un paseo por las casetas de mercado de Navidad con un montón de detallitos para adornar el árbol esta Navidad.
