Un nuevo sitio en Londres, simplemente espectacular.

Ya estamos a mitad de semana y con la Navidad que ya está por todas partes.

Hoy os quiero enseñar un sitio que descubrí este fin de semana, una de esas maravillas escondidas que tiene esta ciudad...
Today I want to show you a new place we discovered last weekend. It is one of the wonder hiding things you can find it in this infinite city...

Lo primero por su localización, en Little Venice, aquí os conté cómo me gusta pasear por esos canales  que te trasladan a otro mundo con sus barcos habitados y sus barrios preciosos.
First of all because of the location. It is located in Little Venice. I have told you here what an amazing is this area. With the canals that move to you another world, with the live boats in an charming neighborhood. 

De verdad que entrar en Clifton Nurseries es como entrar en un paraíso, mas ahora que está con todos los adornos de Navidad y los pinos listos para llevarlos a casa. Tiene 2 invernaderos como tiendas, todos los adornos que tienen son preciosos. Luego puedes pasear al aire libre para elegir que planta o árbol llevarte a casa.
Get in the "Clifton Nurseries" is like go into a paradise, more now with all the Christmas decorations and with the Christmas Trees ready to go home with you. They have 2 greenhouses used as shops, one of them with very nice selection of Christmas decoration and the another one with all you can need to do gardening. You can go for a stroll through all the plants and trees. 

Pero lo mejor es el restaurante que tienen en otro de los invernaderos. Muy sencillo pero con mucho encanto, ya sea para tomarse un café con un rico bollo o para comer o tomar el brunch según la hora que te pille. Es verdad que nosotros reservamos, siempre es más fácil sobretodo si vas en fin de semana. Si hace bueno tienen una parte para sentarse fuera, que también debe ser muy agradable.
They have another greenhouse used as a restaurant, very nice. It is perfect to take a coffee or to have brunch, delicious. It is true that we book in advance, always better if you can do it more during the weekends. They have also a exterior terrace to seat if the weather is nice.

An incredible plan in Central London: Farm Market

Hoy os traigo uno de esos planes increíbles de la ciudad de Londres. Por un rato te teletransportas a un mundo diferente de la city londinense.
Today I want to show you an incredible plan you can find in London. For a little while you can move another world being in the city. 

Si, una granja en medio de la ciudad. Cómo os conté antes de verano tuvimos tiempo de explorar el Este de la ciudad, así que aprovechando el domingo del mercado de las flores nos acercamos a conocer la granja.

Yes, it is a City Farm close to the City of London. As I told you before the summer, we had time to explore the East of the city. We went on a Sunday to visit the flower market in Columbia Road and we went to visit the Farm, it is very close. 

Es un recinto bastante grande, donde tienen varios animales, cerdos, ovejas, gallinas, un burro, cabras..un huerto con etiquetas de lo que tienen plantado, tienen tienda para comprar los productos ecológicos, y están siempre organizando un montón de actividades para niños. También hay un restaurante italiano bastante chulo y rico.
It's a big area with a lot of animals, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, donkey...you can visit the vegetable patch with all the labels where you can see what they have sowed. They have also a shop where you can buy the things they have produced, all ecological products. They organize a lot of activities for the kids. 

Nosotros estuvimos comiendo y volvimos otra noche que tenían música en directo, lo pasamos genial!! Eso si, cuidado con las bicis, que roban las ruedas...

One night we went to dinner and the restaurant was very nice and had live music. A very nice place to visit. Be careful with the bikes, you can lose your wheels..

The perfect place for parents and kids

Mi último descubrimiento para los niños, viene de la mano de mi amiga Paula. Es el sitio perfecto que debería existir en todos los barrios. En este caso está en Tufnell Park, en el Norte de Londres.
My last discovery for kids in London comes from my friend Paula. It is  the perfect place for kids and parents who wants to enjoy a breakfast or a snack. I think a place like this, needs to be in all the neighborhoods. In this case is located in Tufnell Park, in the north of the city.

Una cafetería con mesas comunales donde tomarse un rico desayuno mientras que los niños juegan en una sala a parte llena de juguetes. El plan perfecto para cualquier padre y niño.

Brunch in Wimbledon

Cuando vives en Londres te das cuenta que en realidad es una ciudad enorme formada por mini pueblos. Quitando el centro centro de la ciudad, todos los barrios, ya sean céntricos o zona 3 se parecen bastante. Todos con su calle principal con tiendas, mas o menos conocidas, con el supermercado, cafeterías monas, algo de ocio y por supuesto Pubs. Un parque, con zona de juegos para los niños, campos de fútbol o tenis. Fuera de esto son callecitas con sus casitas, generalmente estilo victorianas, todas preciosas. Cada uno tiene su encanto, aunque sean zonas residenciales, a mi me encanta pasearme por ellas.

When you live in London you realize that although it is a big city (London has 1,572 Km2 and 8M population and Madrid is 605 Km2 and 3 M population) it is like small towns put together. Out of the city centre, all the boroughs are similar. All they have their High Street with their shops, coffees, supermarket, and of course the Pubs. They also have a park with playground and tennis court or football. And out of these you have the residential streets with the Victorian houses. All neighborhoods have their charming and I like to go for a stroll around them. 

Este fin de semana hemos visitado a unos amigos que se han ido allí a vivir a Wimbledon (un clásico en Londres, cuando tienes niños abandonas el centro de la ciudad por zonas mas alejadas donde te puedes permitir una casa mas grande y donde puedes acceder a buenos colegios).

This weekend we have visited friends who moved to live to Wimbledon. It is very common when you have kids to move from the city center to the outskirts looking for a bigger house and good schools. 

Pues por si te das un paseo por allí, porque vas a ver la zona de tenis mas famosa de Inglaterra, te voy a enseñar un restaurante family friendly en el que hemos comido muy bien.

If you are in the surroundings, maybe because you are visiting the most famous court in England, you can go to have a "brunch" to Bills.

Es una cadena que ha tenido mucho éxito y lo puedes encontrar en muchos sitios. (Incluso en Guildford).
It is a very successful chain, you can find it in London centre and in another cities of UK.

Nada mas entrar me ha encantado su decoración y su espacio, me encantan los sitios grandes donde no tienes problemas con los carritos y bolsas que llevas con los niños. 
The first impression, I liked it a lot because the decoration and also the space. I love big restaurants where you have space to leave the pram and the bags. 

Por supuesto con carta de niños, sillas altas y todo lo que puedas necesitar. Cambiador no me he fijado, que ya no usamos, Bien¡¡
Of course they have kids menu, highchairs and everything you could need for the kids. Baby changing I didn't check, we don't need it¡¡¡

Y la comida, nosotros hemos tomado "Brunch" muy rica. Desde los sofisticados y siempre deliciosos huevos benedíctine al clásico desayuno inglés con sus beans y sus salchichas.
The food was delicious, we took the brunch and you can choose from the sophisticated Benedictine eggs and the classical english breakfast with beans and sausages. 

Hemos conseguido comer tranquilos con 4 niñas en la mesa, cosa que a veces no siempre es fácil. Claro que mi bolso a lo "Mary Poppins" ayuda un poco...Tengo que hacer un post de que llevo en el bolso para entretener a las niñas.

We had a nice lunch with 4 kids on the table, it was a challenge, not always easy. My "mary poppins" hand bag helps a lot. I will do a post explaining what I have in my bag to entertain the girls.

Tutorial Cojín nube/ DIY Cloud cushion

Cuando tus amigas ya van teniendo sus segundo hijos, ya no se nunca que regalar. Todo lo heredan, ya no tienen tantas necesidades como con el primero y ya se compran ellas los caphichitos que les apetecen, así que la cosa se complica.

When your friends start having their second child, I never know what to give them as a present. The second`s always inherit's everything and mothers normally don't have the same necessities as with the first one, so it is not easy to find a special present.

Ahora que tengo mas tiempo y estoy desarrollando mi vena creativa, he decidido hacer regalos hechos por mi. Me parece un regalo muy bonito que si les gusta podrán guardar mucho tiempo. En este caso me he decidido por hacer un cojín nube y una banderola (todavía por hacer). Así que aquí os traigo un tutorial por si os animáis para hacer un regalo un poco mas personal. Es muy fácil:

Now I have more time and I am developing my creative side, so I have decided to do a DIY present for the new borns. I think it is a nice present, if they like it they can keep it until they are be older and it's a nice memory. In this case I did a " cloud cushion", I love it¡¡ and I want to do a fabric garland. Esta semana he empezado mi curso Hello Creative y me está haciendo plantearme muchas cosas para mejorar mi blog, así que ando un poco atascada en las publicaciones...todo sea para mejorar.

This week I began my course Hello Creative and to help me to improve my blog, so I am a little bit blocked with my post....anything to improve.

Hoy os traigo un restaurante muy family friendly, que es muy conocido entre los padres del barrio puesto que se come bastante bien, te cuidan a los niños para que puedas comer tranquilo y también porque tiene otra sala que se puede alquilar para fiestas infantiles. Así que muy completo el
restaurante.

Today I want to show you a "family friendly" restaurant in London. It is very famous in the Notting Hill families because is a nice restaurant with good food where they look after the kids after their lunch and also because they have a party space for kid´s birthdays.

Lo primero, la comida. Es muy variada, yo diré que me comí una de las mejores hamburguesas de la ciudad (salvando el Byron). Pero si quieres una comida mas sofisticada también tienen "Oyster Bar" así que puedes tomarte tus ostras con champagne y quedarte tan a gusto.

First of all, the food is delicious. I ate the best burger in the city (Same level than Byron but more sophisticated). You can choose other food and eat Oysters with champagne...

El sitio es bastante grande y bonito. Eso si no hay mucha separación entre mesas, pero tienen sitio de sobra para aparcar los carritos.

The place is big and very nice. For me there is not a lot of space between tables, (you know when you go with 5 kids you always need more space), but you have space enough to park the prams.

Por supuesto tienen menú infantil, un poco escaso. Pedir uno por niños porque se lo comerán, nosotros pedimos para compartir y al final fuimos añadiendo platos porque no eran muy grandes y debía estar muy rico. Salchichas con pure de patata, siempre triunfa con los niños.

They have kid´s menu. It is not very large, so you need to order one per kid. We tried to share, the girls normally share plates, but at the end we had to order more plates because they  were hungry and probably because it was delicious. Sausages with smash potato, it is always a success.

Después de que coman los niños, se suben al "Creche" que es un salón muy grande con 2 cuidadoras y un montón de juguetes donde se lo pasan genial jugando un rato. Así los padres podemos comer tranquilamente, de vez en cuando también se agradece. Sobretodo cuando vas con un grupo de gente.

After the kids finished their lunch, they can go to the "Creche". It is a big room with 2 babysitters and a lot of toys to play with. They enjoy it a lot and the parents could have a calm lunch with friends.

También tiene varios comedores privados para cenas de grupos. Tienen todas una pinta estupenda.
They have also private dinning room for groups and parties. 

De precio, diré que no es muy barato aunque tampoco creo que sea prohibitivo para el nivel de esta ciudad. (35 pounds por persona)
Price, it's not very cheap but tolerable for this city. (35 pounds per person)

Si estás por Notting Hill con niños y quieres una comida tranquila, creo que es una buena opción.

If you are in Notting Hill neighborhood and you want to eat in a nice restaurant where kids are entertained, this restaurant is a good option.

Our first Christmas craft: Advent Calendar

Esta semana la verdad es que no he estado muy inspirada para escribir y la semana que viene no podré escribir que me voy de viaje relámpago, pero quería enseñaros mi calendario de adviento. Lo mejor ha sido poder hacerlo con Mati que le encantan las manualidades, hacemos lo que podemos...

This week I haven't been very inspired to write and next week I cannot write because I have a travel, but I wanted to show you my Advent Calendar. The best of it, is that I did with Mati, who loves craft works, we do our best....

 Yo creo que para ser novatas en esto de las manualidades no ha quedado mal. Tienen 24 días por delante para abrir sus sorpresas y mantener la ilusión de la Navidad, que a veces los mayores perdemos.

I think that at the end the result is not bad for two inexperience in craft works. They have 24 days to open their surprises and maintain the Christmas spirit, that sometimes we lose.

Restaurante que te cuidan a los niños/ Restaurant where they look after your kids in London

Como os dije el otro día hoy os traigo un restaurante en Notting Hill que te cuidan a los niños mientras comes tranquilamente. Si, ya se, es el sueño de toda familia con niños pequeños. Es perfecto.

El restaurante se llama Julie's y está en Notting Hill. En una placita monísima aunque un poco escondida.

The restaurant is Julie's and it is located in a small square, little bit hide in Notting Hill.

En principio es un restaurante francés, aunque yo diría que mas bien internacional. Los domingos tienen el clásico "Sunday Roast". Básicamente es carne asada, ya sea pollo, cordero o ternera con muchos acompañamientos. También tienen brunch, también muy rico aunque un poco escaso si es tu comida del domingo.

It is a french restaurant, but for me it's more international food. On sunday you can taste the "sunday roast". Basically it is roast chicken, beef or lamb with a lot of sides. Delicious. You have also brunch, very nice but maybe not enough if its your sunday lunch.

Como éramos muchos, ya os dije que el fin de semana estábamos a tope, tuvimos un saloncito para nosotros que era muy agradable. Tienen un montón de salas para comidas de grupo.

We were a lot, as I told you we were busy during the weekend, so we had a room for us, it was very pleasant.

Por supuesto tienen menú infantil, pollo, pasta o salchichas, que es lo primero que te sirven para que se puedan ir a jugar.

They have high chairs and kid menu with chicken, pasta or sausage. They bring kid food first so they eat and can go to play. 

La sala de juegos está en el piso de abajo, la llaman "sunday crèche",es como un salón de una casa bastante amplio donde tienen una tele con pelis, una mesa enorme llena de cosas para que pinten, corten o lo que quieran y luego juguetes de todo tipo. Pero lo mejor de todo, es que tienen a 2 chicas estupendas que se quedan con ellos y los entretienen. Esto no tiene precio¡¡¡

The play room is in the basement, they call it "sunday crèche". It is like a big living room with a tv, a big table where they can draw, cut and paste and a lot of toys to play with. But on top of that, 2 girls  looking after the kids. I think this is the best¡¡¡

Total que tuvimos una comida muy agradable y tranquila y ellos se lo pasaron de maravilla.
Super recomendable¡¡¡

We had a calm and pleasant lunch and they enjoyed a lot playing. I recommended it ¡¡¡
