Pop Cupcakes - La mejor receta para las fiestas

La semana pasada ha sido un poco locura, de ahí que me saltara el café del viernes, con la de cafés que yo me tomo...
Last week has been a little bit busy and that is the reason I skipped my coffee on friday, I am sorry..

Entre otras cosas, hemos estado de fiesta. Matilda llevaba haciendo su lista de cumpleaños desde hace 2 meses con los niños de su clase, su cumpleaños es en febrero, así que no iba a poder ser, por no dejarla sin fiesta, hemos organizado su "leaving party". Por una vez, no me he complicado mucho la vida y hemos ido a un pub estupendo con una salita a parte para que no molestaran los niños, hemos contratado una animadora para que estuvieran todos entretenidos, todo muy fácil para mi...
We had a party. Matilda has been preparing her birthday list for two months with the kids of her class, (her birthday is in february). I decided to organize a "leaving party for her". Because I`m quite busy , we  decided to simplify our lives, so we went to a pub that had a nice room that could be used by the kids, and also hired with a nice entertainer and booked for everybody.

Lo único que he hecho, son unos "pop cupcakes", no podíamos poner una tarta sin velas, así que era una buena idea:
The only thing I did was the "pop cupcakes", as we couldn't put a proper cake so that was a very nice idea:

Son un poco rollo de hacer pero quedan muy chulos. Los hicimos de 2 tipos, por un lado de galletas oreo con queso philadelphia. Solo tienes que machacar muy bien las galletas y mezclarlo con una cucharadita de queso philadelphia y hacer como albóndigas. Para dos paquetes de galletas, puse solo 1 cucharada de queso. No se pueden quedar muy blandas que sino luego no se quedan enganchadas a los palitos.

There are a little bit boring to do it, but look very nice. We did 2 types. One with oreo biscuits and philadelphia cheese. You just need to crush the biscuits and mix it with the cheese, and do like meatballs. For 2 packages of biscuits I added one spoon of cheese. They can't end very soft as they will end up stuck to the stick.

Por otro lado, hice un bizcocho normal de receta de magdalenas:
The other kind of pop cupcake was a regular recipe of muffins:

250 gr harina-- flour
250 gr azúcar-- sugar
75 ml aceite --oil
125 ml nata fresca--cream
1 sobre levadura--powder
3 huevos--eggs

Lo mezclas todo bien y 20 minutos al horno a 180º.
You mix all very well and 20 minutes in the oven at 180º.

Cuando se enfría el bizcocho lo deshaces y lo mezclas con queso philadelphia, lo mismo para que te quede una masa homogénea con la que poder hacer como albóndigas.
When it is cold, you destroy it and mix with philadelphia cheese. The idea is the same, you need to get a dough to do like meatballs not very soft. 

Pones chocolate blanco a derretir al baño maría, para poder meter las bolas y que se queden bañadas en chocolate.
Después les pones la decoración que quieras por encima y a la nevera. Puse una ensaladera con azúcar para pinchar los palitos en ella y dejarlo enfriar en la nevera:
Yo lo hice el día anterior para que se quedaran duritas y no se derritieran por el camino.

Melt the white chocolate at doble boil, to put inside the balls and just cover it. Put the sparkly you want and direct to the fridge. 
I put a bowl with sugar to nibbled the pop cupcakes. I did it the day before to be sure that are hard enough. 

Se las devoraron, así que estaban riquísimas.
They ate all of them, so there were delicious...

Halloween decorations DIY last minute

Últimamente no me cunde el tiempo. Muchas cosas en la cabeza y luego no saco tiempo para nada...

Pero estamos en Halloween y aquí en Londres se celebra como una gran fiesta.
Todo el mundo decora sus casas y el viernes nos vamos por el barrio a recolectar caramelos para todo el año.
Lately, I don't have time to do anything. A lot of things in my head, but without time to make them. 
But we are in Halloween and here in London it's a big party. 
Everybody dresses their houses and on friday we will go out to collect sweets for the rest of the year. 

Como he dicho, no me da tiempo a nada, así que he decidido hacer una decoración "last minute" ya que el viernes después de nuestro paseo tenemos fiesta en casa para 6 niños y sus correspondientes padres. El año pasado hicimos más manualidades, Halloween craft 
As I told you, I don't have time, so I have decided to do a last minute decoration. On friday we will have a party at home after the stroll around the neighborhood. Last year we did more crafts, Halloween craft.

Hemos ido esta mañana a mi verdulera en Portobello a elegir una calabaza:
This morning we went to buy a pumpkin to Portobello.

Con unas cartulinas y un poco de washi tape hemos hecho una banderola
With a cardboard and washi tape we did a banner

Y con unas servilletas de Ikea y unos pompones hemos hecho unos fantasmas
With some Ikea napkin and pompons we have made ghosts

Alguna cosilla mas que compraré, y estaremos listos para Halloween!!
We will buy more stuff and we will be ready for Halloween!!!

DIY: Elsa's costume

Este fin de semana hemos tenido un fin de semana temático: Frozen ha llegado a nuestras vidas, bueno desde antes de verano que hemos visto la película un millón de veces y nos sabemos sus canciones en español y en inglés y ahora estamos todo el día vestidas de la princesa Elsa.
This weekend we had a thematic weekend: Frozen has arrived to our lives. Since before the summer we have seen the film thousand of times and of course we know all the songs in Spanish and English. Now it's time to dress like princess Elsa.

Hoy os traigo un DIY del disfraz de Elsa por si tenéis una princesa en potencia. Gracias a mi amiga sueca/griega, que ya os he contado que es a la que se le ocurren hacer todas estos DIY.
Today I want to show you Elsa's costume DIY. If you have a princess at home it has become a 'must'. All this thanks to my swedish/greek friend, she has the ideas for these DIY.

Lo más complicado es encontrar las telas, por si las buscas en Londres, nosotras las encontramos en las tiendas de telas de Shepperd Bush.
I think the most complicated thing it is to find the fabric. In London we found it in Shepperd Bush. 

Necesitas:
Tela azul brillante para la falda
Tela bordada para el cuerpo, ésta es más cara y más complicada de encontrar
Tela de organza para la capa.
Un maillot de ballet blanco
Copos de nieve para coser a la falda (ebay es perfecto para encontrar estas cosas)
Elástico (para ponerle por detrás al cuerpo, para fruncir la capa y para fruncir un poco la falda)
Lana gris clarita

What you need to do the costume:
Shiny blue fabric for the skirt 
Embroidery fabric for the body, this is expensive and more complicated to find.
Organza fabric for the cape
White ballet leotard 
Snowflakes to sew to the skirt (You can find it in ebay)
Elastic 
Yarn grey /white

Pasos /Steps:

La falda /The skirt:

Haces un dobladillo en la parte de arriba, dejas un trozo abierto para ponerle un elástico y que se la pueda ajustar y otro dobladillo abajo a la medida que le vaya bien.
Luego con mucha paciencia le coses a mano los copos de nieve, yo solo le he puesto por delante, por detrás llevan la capa y no se ve.
You need to make a turn up on the top of the skirt, leave it a bit open to put an elastic inside to fit it. Another turn up on the bottom with the length of your girl.
You need to sew by hand all the snowflakes on the skirt. I only put on the front because in the back with the cape you cannot see them.

El cuerpo /The body

Hemos cosido la tela bordada al maillot de ballet sólo por arriba y por delante, dejando la parte de atrás abierta, el maillot es elástico y la tela es rígida, así que no se puede coser todo que sino se romperá al ponérselo.  Para cerrarlo por detrás unos elásticos o unos agujeros para meterles un lazo y ajustarlo.
Después de coser el cuerpo, coser la falda al maillot de ballet. Con la máquina le he dado unas puntadas en los laterales y en la parte de delante.
We sewed the embroidery fabric direct to the leotard on the top of it with the back open because the leotard is elastic and the fabric is rigid, this way it doesn't break. To close the back you can put just an elastic or make the holes to put a bow to adjust.
After that, you can sew the skirt to the leotard. With the machine I did some stitches on the sides and on the front, but not all around.

La capa / The cape

Hacer un dobladillo arriba, meterle un elástico y tirar para que se quede un poco fruncido y luego hacer un dobladillo abajo con el largo que queráis.
Para unirlo, yo en un caso lo he cosido por la parte de atrás del maillot y en el otro le he puesto unos automáticos para poderla quitar, si queda muy larga se la pisan todo el rato.
You need a turn up on the top, put an elastic inside and pull it to gather a little bit. Another turn up on the bottom with the length you want it to be. To join to the costume  in one case I have sewed on the back of the leotard and for Olivia I have put loops to have the option to put out. 

La trenza de Elsa / Elsa's  plait

Con un poco de lana gris o blanca, coge la medida, corta la lana, yo hice un circulo arriba para meterlo en su coleta y luego haces una trenza. Yo luego le cosí unos copos de nieve a lo largo de la trenza.
With grey or white yarn, take the measure you want and cut the yarn. I did a circle on the top to put in her pony tale and after that just the plate. You can sew snowflakes in the plait.

Knitting: Te animas?

Esta semana ha llegado el frío a Londres, sin avisar, con lo contentas que estábamos con esta temperatura tan buena...
Así que a raiz de esto, me tengo que poner las pilas para hacer todos los proyectos de punto que tengo y se me acumulan.

And winter has arrived to London, without notice, we were so happy with the spring weather we were having the last weeks...
So, I need to wake up and begin all my knitting projects that I have for the winter.

Empecé a hacer punto hace un par de años, lo de ser full mother me está afectando.... La verdad es que os lo recomiendo, aunque pienses que no vas a sacar tiempo, al final los ratitos tontos enfrente de la tele dan para mucho y cuando le coges el truco es muy relajante, todo el rato lo mismo y es muy agradecido, haces cosas molonas para que tus niños vayan preciosos.

I began to do knitting 2 years ago, being a full mother is affecting me...I really recommend it to you, although you may think you don't have time, at the end,  moments like during the night, in front of the TV  you can do these things. When you know how to do it, it's very relaxing and it is very grateful at the same time. You can make fantastic things for your kids. 

Las primeras lecciones me las dio mi madre, que alucina viéndome hacer todas estas cosas DIY. Siempre es más fácil si alguien físicamente te enseña a coger las agujas y a montar los puntos y por supuesto te arregla los agujeros que se te van quedando.... pero si no tienes una madre cerca, los tutoriales de internet te ayudan mucho, yo estoy enganchada a knitting point, tiene unos videos súper bien explicados que te ayudan sobretodo al principio.

The first lessons were with my mother, she was very surprised with my DIY... It is easier if someone can show you the first steps with the needle and the yarn, but you can find tutorials in internet. I like so much the ones in  knitting point, they are very easy to follow and help a lot at the beginning. 


Aquí mi primera bufanda, como vais a ver van creciendo con el tamaño de mis hijas. (El rulo del final que es la gracia de la bufanda lo hizo mi madre...):

El año pasado bufandas en triángulo con pom pones, lo descubrí en una mamá diseñadora, se pasaron todo el invierno con ellas, de ahí que estén un poco viejitas:

Last year I did triangle scarves with pom pom, I found it in the blog of  una mamá diseñadora. My girls worn them all the winter, now they look very old...

Este año tengo mucho por hacer. Estoy primero con una manta regalito, que me está costando, cómo pesa!! en cuanto la termine haré un tutorial.

Now I am doing a blanket as a present, buff is to much, and it's very heavy. As soon as I finish it I will show you:

Todas estas lanas son para las bufandas para mis niñas y sus primas, me tengo que poner ya!!
All these yarns are to do scarves to my daughters and my nieces, I need to begin now!!

DIY: Puertas Ratoncito Pérez / Tooth Fairy doors

Hoy os traigo una de las cosas mas chulas que he encontrado en este mundo 2.0. La verdad es que la gente es super creativa, ya me gustaría a mi. Desde que escribo el blog me he rodeado de gente que te hace ver el mundo lleno de cosas bonitas, lo que es de agradecer.
Today I want to show you one of the nicest thing I have found in this 2.0 world. I have found people very creative, I would like be creative, but I am not. Since I write the blog, I have around me a lot of people who shows me the world with nice things, I appreciate it a lot.

Lo de hoy lo descubrí de la mano de la tienda Oui Oui, si no la conocéis os estáis perdiendo una tienda con cosas increíbles. Pero las puertas del Ratoncito Pérez me encantaron.
What I'm showing today, I discovered it in oui oui shop, a spanish brand with a lot of nice stuff. The Fairy doors... I was in love since the very first moment.

Me gustó tanto que se las enseñé a mi amiga la sueca-griega que fue la que me animó ha hacerlas nosotras. Así que nos lanzamos a la búsqueda de todo lo que pudiéramos necesitar, las puertas con marcos, los tiradores, el buzón para las cartas, la escalera...de todo. Las pintamos le pusimos todos los abalorios y estamos encantadas con el resultado.
I showed them to my Swedish/Greek friend and she told me that we could do it by ourselves. We found all the things we needed, we put in the frame, the knock door, the letter box...we painted and we are very happy with our doors.

Mi amiga va a usar su puerta, además de para que deje los dientes cuando se le vayan cayendo a sus hijas, también porque su hija mayor tiene muchas pesadillas, aquí en Inglaterra no tienen Ratoncito Pérez es la "Hada de los dientes" y tiene toda una historia detrás. Cómo veis la puerta da mucho juego, me parece un regalo genial para cualquier niño. Deseando ver la cara de mis hijas y mis sobrinas cuando les pongamos la puerta...
So you can use the door for infinity things and its always nice to have in the children room. I can't wait to see the face of my daughters with my nice doors.

DIY: Paint kid's chair with Chalk Paint

Este fin de semana hemos tenido todo tipo de climatología, solecito con calor y tormentas que nos han tenido en casa. Hemos aprovechado la visita de los "tíos" para hacer dos cosas fundamentales, una ir de rebajas y otra manualidades. En este caso, las hemos unido en el DIY que os traigo hoy tan resultón.

This weekend we had all the climatology you can expect, a sunny day, thunders, chili weather.. so we spent some time at home. We have taken advantage of the "uncles visit" to do two things, going for shopping and craft work. In this case, they go together in the successful DIY I want to show you:

Nos han regalado unas sillas blancas monísimas en Zara Home, que bonito es todo lo de esta tienda, encima de rebajas:
They have given us these nice white chairs from Zara Home, I love everything of this shop. And we are on sales!!

Como nos parecían un poco sosas y aprovechando que había comprado "Chalk Paint" para pintar otra cosa que tengo pendiente, se nos ocurrió tunearlas un poco. Cuanto ganan con un poco de imaginación.
Después de darle vueltas nos decimos por pintar dos niñas en los asientos de las sillas, cada una de un color.

They seem very boring, just white, so we decided to paint them with the Chalk Paint I bought for another thing. How things improve with a little bit of imagination. After thinking about it, we decided to draw two girls at the bottom of the chairs in different colors.


Los pasos ha seguir /Steps to do it:

      Pintar en un papel el contorno del asiento y pintar la niña
      Draw the form of the seat and draw in the middle a little girl 

      Recortarla por dentro para pegarlo a la silla y pintarlo para que quede la silueta
      Cut out the inside to glue it on the chair and paint to get the shape of the draw. 

      Se nos ocurrió pintar un poco las patas para darles un poco más de color
      We painted also the legs to put more color

     Dejarlo secar y listo
     Leave it to dry and ready:

DIY mejor regalo para una amiga / DIY easy present for your friend

Como os conté la semana pasada, hemos estado en París visitando varios amigos (Versailles, Paris)
Hoy os quiero enseñar los regalitos que llevamos a los que nos alojaron en sus casa en nuestra visita a Versalles. Ya decía mi madre de "bien nacido es ser agradecido".

As I told you last week, we have been in Paris visiting friends, (Versailles, Paris). Today I want to show you the present we brought to them. 

Para la pareja sin niños, que ella valora mucho el "hecho a mano", es una artista haciendo cosas con felpa, le hice un pañuelo. Súper fácil y ya tengo el encargo para hacer otro.

For the couple living in Versalles, I did something "hand made". I know she really loves these things, she is an artist with plush. I did a scarf. It is very easy and it is very nice and I have an order to do another one.

Necesitas / You need:

La tela que mas te guste, que no sea demasiado tiesa. Yo compré 1,40 metros al final corté un poco, que se me hacía muy grande, así que yo creo que con 1 metro tienes de sobra. (normalmente son por 1,20 de ancho).
Para darle un poco de gracia, compré una tira con pompones pequeñitos, ya viene la tira para coser. Yo compré 3 metros.

The fabric you like. Not very stiff. I bought 1,40 meters, but at the end I cut a little bit, so with 1 metro you will have enough. (The regular fabric has 1,20 meters width).

Tutorial / To do it:

Haces un dobladillo, lo mas pequeño que puedas, pero doble para que se te quede el final de la tela por dentro de la doblez. Lo puedes hilvanar o ir poniendo alfileres. Yo soy la reina de los alfileres...
Yo planchas para que cuando lo pases por la máquina se quede todo en su sitio.

First you need to turn up, as small as you can. But you need to do doble to put inside the end of the fabric. You can put pins or baste it. I prefer the pins...You iron it to fix the turn up. 

En dos de los lados, al dobladillo le añadí la tira con los pompones. Más alfileres y a la máquina.
In two of the sides of the scarf, I add a strip with small pompons, I fix it with more pins. It it ready to sew in the machine. 

Listo para poner. Me parece que es un regalo muy chulo y personal para cualquier amiga, así que ya sabéis animaros a coser.
Now is ready to use. I think it's a nice present for a friend, very personal. And I hope they are going to love it.
