Muchos planes Londres / Busy weekend in London

Hemos tenido un fin de semana increíble. Que bueno es cuando viene alguien con quien has "vivido" durante 2 años y hace 6 meses que no ves, pero es como si no se hubieran ido nunca...Que bien lo hemos pasado¡¡

We had a incredible weekend. It is so nice when someone who has lived with you for 2 years but has left 6 months ago and it's like they have never left. Very nice to see you¡¡

Empezamos el jueves con Halloween. Todos disfrazados y a la calle. Que divertido. Había un montón de gente por la calle, vas llamando a las casas que están decoradas y tienen calabazas en la puerta. Te dan un montón de caramelos y ves la entrada de casas increíbles. Muy recomendable el paseo por la calle.

We began on thursday with Halloween. Everybody dressed up and in the street. How funny¡¡ There were a lot of people in the street and a lot of houses with pumpkins and halloween decorations. So we got a lot of sweets and we snooped the incredible houses. Very recommended the stroll in the neighborhood.

El viernes por la mañana nos fuimos hasta la Tate Modern, que bonito paseo. Nos bajamos del metro en San Paul, cruzamos el río y llegas al edificio de la Tate, que es una antigua central de energía, solo ver el edificio merece la pena. Bueno, ahora no es el mejor momento, están de obras porque están haciendo otro edificio detrás para ampliarlo. Aún así, sigue siendo increíble. En la planta de abajo, tienen un cubo de cristal que siempre tienen actividades para niños. Esta vez había que montar películas, tenían rollos de pelis y muchos papeles de colores y los tenías que montar a modo de rollo de cine. Nada parecido a eso nos salió, pero pasamos un buen rato pegando y viendo a través de los papeles de colores.

Friday morning, we went to the Tate Modern. We went in the tube to San Paul, then we crossed the river and you in front you have the building of the Tate. The building was a Power Station and really it is amazing. Now is not the best moment to visit, it's under construction because they are doing another building behind to extend the museum. But you can visit the regular exhibitions. We have been in the ground floor, they have a cristal cube where they have always activities for the kids. We were there doing films. They have a lot of cinema roll and a lot of color papers to assemble a film. We spent a great time playing with the papers.

Para comer, si vas por detrás de la Tate hay una calle llena de restaurantes de todo tipo. Nosotros elegimos un italiano muy rico, Vapiano.
To have a lunch, you can go behind the Tate there is a big street with a lot of restaurants. We chose one Italian restaurant, Vapiano.

Tienes que pedir la comida en una barra/cocina, te preparan tu plato en el momento y con tu bebida te sientas donde quieras. Tienen todo tipo de pastas y pizzas, todo muy rico. Por supuesto tienen menú de niños y sillas para niños. La zona para sentarse es bastante amplia, hay mesas altas y otra zona con mesas bajitas con puf para sentarse que está muy bien para los niños.

You order the food in the kitchen bar, they cook it to you in the moment. You have pasta and pizza, everything yummy yummy. You choose your drink an take a seat wherever you want. There are high tables and another area with small tables with puffs to seat, very funny with the kids. 

Después de comer, nos cogimos un taxi, me encantan los taxis ingleses, tan grandes que metes el carrito sin plegar, y como las distancias son tan largas a mis hijas les da tiempo a echarse una siestecita para recuperar fuerzas. Nos esperaba una tarde entera de actividades. Empezamos por el Museo de Ciencias, donde hemos pasado tantas tardes juntos. Eso si, nunca tan lleno como estaba el viernes, madre mía que de gente. Estuvimos un ratito jugando en el parque que tienen en la planta de abajo, (aquí teneos mi post del museo de ciencias Museo Ciencias. Como había mucha gente y la verdad hacia bastante calor, decidimos cruzar Hyde Park en busca de un helado. Nada como motivar a los niños para que se crucen el parque corriendo. Así que acabamos la tarde en la cafetería del palacio de Kensington tomando un helado, café y un té.
La mejor estrategia para echar a la gente porque cerraban que he visto nunca, en lugar de avisar que cerraban en 5 minutos, nos avisaron que cerraban las puertas del parque en 10 minutos, así que todo el mundo a la carrera, creo que vacíaron la cafetería en 2 minutos. Estos ingleses son increíbles¡¡¡

After lunch, we took a taxi, I love cabs. You can go inside without folding your pram. The distances are so long, so my daughters had time for a nap to load batteries for the afternoon. We went to Science Museum, it's the place where we spent a lot of afternoons but never we saw it so full of people, amazing. We were there for a short time and after playing in the playground in the basement Science Museum we went to cross Hyde park looking for an ice cream, nothing like this to motivate the kids to run in the garden. Finally we went to the cafe in the Kensington Palace. I saw the best strategy to empty a place, they told us that in 10 minutes the doors of the park were going to close. and everybody left in less than 2 minutes. This english people are incredible¡¡¡



Mañana sigo con los planes del fin de semana. Quien dijo que en esta ciudad no había planes para hacer con niños?
Tomorrow I will continue with the weekend plans. Who said that in this city you cannot do a lot of things with kids?

Halloween para principiantes/Halloween for beginners

Halloween ya esta aquí y lo ha invadido todo. Por lo menos en esta ciudad es impresionante, las casas decoradas con calabazas y fantasmas en todas las ventanas, todas las tiendas decoradas y todo el mundo haciendo/buscando el disfraz mas terrorífico.

Halloween is here and everywhere. In this city it's incredible, all the houses with pumpkins and ghosts in all the windows, all the shops have been decorated and everybody is looking for scary customs. 

Yo la verdad es que no era muy partidaria de celebrarla, en España antes no era una fiesta, mas bien era  un momento de ir a los cementerios y las abuelas rezar los rosarios, con el tiempo se ha ido convirtiendo en una fiesta para los niños, pero yo no he sabido explicársela a mis hijas, eso de los muertos todavía no lo entienden.

It is true that I am not a huge fan of this celebration. In Spain, it wasn't  a party, it was more time to go to the cementery and grandmothers praying the rosary, but now it is also a kids party... I cannot explain to my daughter the reason of the party, she doesn't understand yet death.

Bueno, este año, ya que estoy en faceta creativa, me he lanzado a la calle a por nuestra calabaza y a hacer todo tipo de manualidades, menos mal que existe Pinterest, mi imaginación es nula.

This year, continuing with my creative moment, I have our pumpkin and we did a lot of crafts, thanks to Pinterest, as my imagination is useless.

He de decir que el día ha sido genial, Mati está de vacaciones y me la he llevado a desayunar a mi terraza favorita, a disfrutado como una enana haciendo planes de mamá, luego hemos ido a una papelería a comprar todo lo negro y naranja que hemos encontrado, luego a por la calabaza, estaba feli¡¡

I have to say that we had a very nice day. Mati is on holidays (half term) and we went to have breakfast in my favourite coffee (Kitchen and Pastry), she enjoyed a lot doing mamma´s plans. After that, we went to a stationary shop to take all the orange and black paper. And of course to get the pumpkin. 

Y mañana nos disfrazamos y nos vamos a la calle para pasearnos el barrio y de paso cotillear las casas impresionantes que nos rodean. Además muy bien acompañadas, vienen a pasar el fin de semana su amigo del alma y mi amiga alemana. Cómo os echamos de menos¡¡¡

Tomorrow we will disguise and we are going to walk in the neighborhood to do trick or treat. Also we will take advantage to snoop the incredible houses.... and we are going in good company. Matilda's best friend and his german mother are coming to spend the weekend in London. How we miss you¡¡

Una semana cosiendo /Sewing class

Después de una semana muy intensa, como prometí aqui llegan mis avances de costura.
After a week working, as I promised, here you have my sewing advances.

Antes que nada mis consejos para principiantes como yo, de verdad empezad por cosas muy sencillas porque aunque veáis una cosa monísima que parece súper fácil, siempre es mas complicado de lo que parece. Yo me he lanzado a hacer una camisa monísima, muy sencilla (eso creía yo) y menos mal que ha venido aquí  la profesional de la costura, sino no se que habría sido de ella....

Before all, my advise to beginners like me. Try to begin with very simple things. Because although you see something very nice and it looks very easy, normally is more complicated than you expect. I began with a girl shirt, it looks very easy and nice, but not. Lucky for me the sewing master has been here and she has helped me a lot, if not I don't know how I would have finished the shirt..

No compreis las telas mas caras. A quien no le gustan las telas de Liberty? Con esas florecitas tan monas y que les quedan tan bien a las niñas. Luego duele mucho destrozarlas....También hay telas muy monas mucho mas baratitas....

You don't need expensive fabric to begin. But who doesn't like the fabrics of Liberty? With those flowers that look very nice in the girls...But if you ruin them it's hard to stand... And you can find very nice cheap fabrics .

Hay que practicar mucho y echarle bastante tiempo. No te puedes poner un ratito por la noche, desplegar todos los medios, para al final estar 1 horita, que debería cundir mucho, pero cómo hay que medirlo todo y remedirlo, casi ya se te ha ido el tiempo y no has avanzado nada. Y de la máquina no hablamos por la noche.. Así que hay que tener tiempo de verdad para que cunda.

You need to practice a lot and you will need a lot of time to do it. You cannot spend a short period of time at night, spread out all the things you need, measure everything, remeasure, the time is gone and you don't have nothing, and in my case I cannot use the sewing machine, so you need really time to dedicate to sew...

Dicho esto, no quiero desanimar a nadie. Que ya se que muchas os habéis comprado máquinas o pensado ir a un curso de costura. Yo os animo a seguir¡¡. Creo que con un poco de experiencia se pueden hacer cosas muy chulas y originales. Pero paciencia.

Having said that, I don't want to discourage nobody. I know that you bought a sewing machine or you are thinking to begin a sewing class, I really encourage to do it. I think you can do a lot of very nice and original things. You only need patience.

WholeFoods coffee/Family friendly market

Hoy os traigo una cafeteria muy family friendly.
Today I want to introduce you a family friendly cafe.

En realidad es un supermercado, Whole foods. Es un supermercado americano con productos ecológicos, todo lo que tienen tiene buena pinta. Es de esos sitios que vas y comprarías de todo aunque no te haga falta. Tienen una sección de productos frescos muy buenos, tanto la fruta y la verdura como la carnicería y la pescadería. Por no hablar de la panadería, mmm impresionante. No es fácil encontrar super en Londres con este pintón.

It is a supermarket, Wholefoods. It is an american brand with ecological products, everything looks amazing. Is one of those places where you want to buy everything. It has a very good section of fresh products, vegetables, fruits, butchery and fish, all incredible. On top of that, the bakery, mmmm. It is not easy to find a good supermarket in London.  

Bueno, en el que está en High Street Kensington, tienen arriba una cafetería enorme. Con distintos tipos de comida, sushi bar, un autoservicio con diferentes platos, para tomar café, zumos naturales riquisimos, helados, todo lo que quieras. Tu eliges lo que quieres, y en el centro de la cafetería hay un montón de mesas para sentarse tranquilamente. Es genial por su tamaño, es muy grande, los niños no molestan y tienen trona para los niños. Así que perfecto para descansar un rato.

Well, I want to show you the one that is located in High Street Kensington. It has a big restaurant/coffee on the top floor. You can choose different restaurants, japanese, regular food, mexican or natural juices, coffee or ice creams. It is great because it has a a lot of space with tables and children are welcome, they have high chairs. So, I think it is a prefect place to take a snack with kids.

La única pega, no tienen coca cola¡¡¡ todo ecológico¡¡¡ Eso si, tienen un zumo de manzana con burbujas que a mi hija le encanta.
The only but  is it doesn't have diet coke¡¡ everything is ecologic... But they have an sparkly apple juice that she loves it. 


El próximo post os enseñaré mis avances en costura, una semana con la maestra costurera da para mucho.

Rome, Ibiza, London

Si ya lo se, llevo una semana desaparecida...
Yes, I know, I have been one week missing...

Primero fue Roma, que divertido¡¡ Una ciudad perfecta para el plan que hicimos, una casa romana alquilada entera para nosotros, super recomendable. Todos los amigos juntos con ganas de pasarlo bien y el fin de todo celebrar los 10 años de casados de unos amigos. Gracias por compartirlo con nosotros, ha sido genial¡¡¡

First, was Rome, super fun¡¡¡ It is the perfect city to do the plan we had. We let one roman house for all, we were 12, very well located, close to Piazza Navona. We walked around the city, you have time to visit the top things in a weekend. And on top of that, all together to spend one weekend laughing and enjoying a lot. The aim of this trip was to celebrate 10 years married for friends, thank you for sharing with us¡¡¡

Después de Roma, ha sido Ibiza. Madre mia, octubre y en la playa bañándonos. Eso no tiene precio. En este caso tocó celebración familiar, no se cumplen 90 años todos los días.
Además de playa, ha sido un fin de semana gastronómico, que forma de comer, que rico todo...

After Rome, we have been in Ibiza. In october and in the beach, completely amazing¡¡ In this case, the reason was the 90´s birthday of my grandma in law. Very emotional¡¡
In addition to that, we had a gastronomic weekend, we ate a lot, and very very yummy.

Pero bueno, ya estamos de vuelta a la realidad. Londres, lluvia, coles, casa, comida, búsqueda trabajo... madre mía que duro es volver.
Now we are here, back to reality. London, rain, school, house, food, looking for a job..my small things.
