Theatre with Kids in London

Ir al teatro con los niños me parece un planazo. En Londres, la verdad es que siempre hay obras para los niños. Hay algunas que son como el espectáculo de la temporada, como cuando fuimos a ver a , Peppa Pig en Navidad, plan obligatorio si estas en la ciudad para Navidad.

Going to the theatre with kids, I think is a very good plan. In London you can always find plays for the little ones. Here they have temporal shows, like Peppa Pig that we went in Christmas with Peppa Pig. This is a compulsory plan if you are in London for Christmas. 

La semana pasada estuvimos viendo a Upsy Daisy, IgglePiggle y Makka Paka, aquí son muy famosos porque son los dibujos de la tele de antes de ir a dormir, bueno en nuestro caso antes de ir al baño, que lo ponen a las 6,30 de la tarde. A mi la verdad es que no me entusiasman, pero las niñas alucinan. Yo creo que es por la música y los colores, porque la historia es muy básica. La obra de teatro yo  diría que es para los más pequeños, de 1-3 años. Ellas disfrutaron un montón viendo a los muñecos de la tele en vivo y en directo. Y el teatro estaba muy bien montado, muy bonito.

Last week we went to see Upsy Daisy, IgglePiggle and Makka Paka. In London they are very famous because you can see them all days in TV at bed time, 6,30 pm (for us is bath time). I didn't like it very much, but the girls love it. I think it's more more the music and the colors, because at the end it is a very basic history. The theatre was nice, the staging was very well assembled and the girls enjoyed a lot just looking the tv cartoon`s moving.

Polka Theatre, está en Wimbledon, hay metro desde el centro de Londres y siempre tienen varias obras a la vez para niños.

Puppet Theatre, este es un teatro de marionetas en un barco en Little Venice. No se puede pedir mas!!

Lyric Theatre, este es un teatro en Picadilly que lleva un montón de tiempo con la obra "El tigre que vino a tomar el té", muy famosa en Londres. Un libro precioso.
This is a Theatre in Picadilly. They are representing the "Tiger who came to tea" long time ago. A very nice book.

A parte de todos los musicales. Yo todavía no me he atrevido a llevarles a ninguno, creo que son un poco pequeñas. Ya habrá tiempo...

Un placer para tus pies: Spanish handmade shoes

Hoy os traigo un poco de shopping, que también a veces hay que comprarse algún caprichito y estamos de rebajas.
Today I want to show you a little bit of shopping. We all need to have our fashion whims and we are on Sales!!

Me las dio a conocer mi hermana, que es la encargada de los pedidos y me encantan!!
My sister showed them to me, she is in charge of my orders and I love them all!!

Son unos zapatos fabricados 100% en España con todo detalle. La piel o ante que utilizan es de primera y lo que mas me gusta son los pompones que le ponen a los zapatos en la parte de atrás, todo un símbolo de identificación. Hacen una mezcla de colores muy original, siempre vas a encontrar algunos de los que enamorarte, sino de todos....
There are spanish handmade shoes. The weather or suede they are using is fabulous and I love the pompom at the back of the shoes, an identity symbol. They mix a lot of funny colors, so you can always find a pair that fits with your necessities.

Y lo mejor de todo, han sacado colección de niñas. Igual que mamá. Ya estoy tardando en pedir las primeras "juanitas" para Matilda. (prometo foto cuando las tenga).
On top of that, they have start the "Kids Collection", to go like mummy. I need to order the first "Juanitas" for Matilda. (I will show you when I will have it).

DIY: Paint kid's chair with Chalk Paint

Este fin de semana hemos tenido todo tipo de climatología, solecito con calor y tormentas que nos han tenido en casa. Hemos aprovechado la visita de los "tíos" para hacer dos cosas fundamentales, una ir de rebajas y otra manualidades. En este caso, las hemos unido en el DIY que os traigo hoy tan resultón.

This weekend we had all the climatology you can expect, a sunny day, thunders, chili weather.. so we spent some time at home. We have taken advantage of the "uncles visit" to do two things, going for shopping and craft work. In this case, they go together in the successful DIY I want to show you:

Nos han regalado unas sillas blancas monísimas en Zara Home, que bonito es todo lo de esta tienda, encima de rebajas:
They have given us these nice white chairs from Zara Home, I love everything of this shop. And we are on sales!!

Como nos parecían un poco sosas y aprovechando que había comprado "Chalk Paint" para pintar otra cosa que tengo pendiente, se nos ocurrió tunearlas un poco. Cuanto ganan con un poco de imaginación.
Después de darle vueltas nos decimos por pintar dos niñas en los asientos de las sillas, cada una de un color.

They seem very boring, just white, so we decided to paint them with the Chalk Paint I bought for another thing. How things improve with a little bit of imagination. After thinking about it, we decided to draw two girls at the bottom of the chairs in different colors.


Los pasos ha seguir /Steps to do it:

      Pintar en un papel el contorno del asiento y pintar la niña
      Draw the form of the seat and draw in the middle a little girl 

      Recortarla por dentro para pegarlo a la silla y pintarlo para que quede la silueta
      Cut out the inside to glue it on the chair and paint to get the shape of the draw. 

      Se nos ocurrió pintar un poco las patas para darles un poco más de color
      We painted also the legs to put more color

     Dejarlo secar y listo
     Leave it to dry and ready:

New York Cheesecake homemade - The best present

Esta semana hemos estado de cumpleaños. El mejor padre del mundo para mis niñas cumplía años así que que mejor para celebrarlo, a parte de unos cuantos dibujos y algún regalito, que hacer su tarta favorita, New York Cheesecake

This week we have had a birthday. The best father in the whole wide world, for my girls, turn years, so what could be better, aside the drawings and the presents, that a homemade cake, his favorite New York Cheesecake

La verdad es que me encanta meterme en la cocina con las niñas, a ellas les encanta, sobretodo a la mayor y yo disfruto un montón, así que todos contentos.
La receta la saqué de La receta de la felicidad, os recomiendo su web con recetas super ricas y todo muy bien explicado, me encanta. Aquí mi otra especialidad, rhubarb muffins.

I love to cook with the kids, she enjoyed a lot and I like to do things with them. The recipe is from LRF, here is the blog, check it, it is awesome!!! Here my other speciality, rhubarb muffins.

Pasos:

• Encender el horno a 200º.
• Para la base, machacar las galletas. Aquí participan las niñas machacándolas como pueden y de paso chupándose los dedos y comiéndose los trocitos. Le añadimos la mantequilla derretida para que se quede como una masa con trocitos. Al congelador mientras preparamos lo demás.
• En un bol mezclamos todos los ingredientes del relleno, uno a uno sin parar de moverlo.
• Ponemos el relleno en la base de galletas y al horno 10 minutos a 200º y luego lo bajamos a 150º durante 30 minutos.
• Apagamos el horno y lo dejamos dentro varias horas, cuando este frío a la nevera. Nosotras lo preparamos la víspera y estaba delicioso...

Cada uno se ha puesto la mermelada por encima, yo le puse Custard de limón y madre mia...

Steps:

• Place on the oven at 200º
• To prepare the base, crush the biscuits with the kids help. Melt the butter and mix to get a dough like sand. We put everything in a mould and keep it in the freezer.
• We add all the stuff ingredients one by one and mix all together.
• Put the stuff in the mould and direct to the oven. 10 minutes at 200º and then 30 minutes at 150º. After this time, leave it in the oven few hours, when it's cold put in the fridge until next day. Delicious!!
• Each one can add their favorite marmalade flavor, I chose lemon custard, amazing!!

The best ideas for a perfect pic-nic

Si hay algo que me encanta de vivir en Londres es que en cuanto hace bueno sacas la manta y ahí te tiras por un rato en algún jardín.
If there is something I love about living in London is when we have a sunny day and everybody puts the blanket in the garden to share something.

Me declaro FAN total de los pic nics. Me encantan por concepto, juntarse todos juntos alrededor de comida y bebida de la forma más sencilla y pasar el día. Me encanta!!
I am super Fan of the pic-nic. I like the concept, sharing with your friends a blanket in the floor, normally in a nice garden and spending all the day in good company. I love it!!!

Como ya os conté en nuestra summer party aquí son unos profesionales del pic-nic, lo que nunca les falta es su botella de Champagne y sus copas, la comida casi es lo de menos.
As I told you in our  summer party, there are real professionals of the pic-nic, where a Champagne bottle and nice glasses are always there.

La manta, a poder ser plastificada por abajo, que la humedad es muy mala
The blanket, if it is possible laminated as below, the humidity is uncomfortable

La bebida, cuando hacemos picnic en el jardín de casa siempre bajamos un cubo con hielos para mantener fría la bebida, sino no hay forma.
To drink, the most important thing is try to have the drinks cold, so a cube with ices is always a good idea
